What to Do If the Transformer Cooling System Fails?

When the transformer of forced oil circulation air cooling, water cooling and guided water cooling, when the cooling system (fan, submersible oil pump, cooling water system, etc.) fails and the cooling device is stopped, the following treatment should be carried out in time:

1. When the transformer control panel appears “cooling device working power failure” or “standby power failure” optical signal, immediately find out the reason, so that the cooling device as soon as possible to resume work.

2. When the optical signal of “cooling water interruption” appears on the transformer control panel, check the reason quickly to restore the cooling device to work.

3. If the above two fault signals occur at the same time, then we should pay attention to the changes in the oil level of the transformer upper oil and oil pillow.

(1) When the cooling device is all shut down, there will be a sharp rise in oil temperature and oil may run from the explosion-proof pipe (or safety airway).

(2) When the cooling device resumes operation, the oil level of the oil pillow drops sharply again, and the oil level drops below the scale -20C and continues to decline, the heavy gas protection device needs to be stopped immediately.

(3) If the cooling device cannot be restored to operation within the specified time, the person in charge shall be required and the transformer shall exit from operation.
